Disability Culture Month
Join the Disability-Focused Research Showcase
The Disability-Focused Research Showcase is an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students, faculty and staff to present their work connected to any aspect of disability. This interdisciplinary event highlights the important work being done across disability topics, research methods and academic perspectives from scholars and practitioners here at Mizzou.
Present your work to share important expertise with the campus community and be a signature part of the Disability Culture Month celebration.
Lee Henson Access Mizzou Awards
The Lee Henson Access Mizzou Awards were established to honor Mizzou’s former ADA Coordinator, Lee Henson, who dedicated 20 years of service to the university before his passing in 2014. These awards recognize individuals who have:
- Exceeded expectations in effectively addressing disability-related needs on campus.
- Advocated for universal design and ensure environments are supportive of people with disabilities.
- Demonstrated a lasting commitment to enhancing accessibility at Mizzou.
Awards are presented in four categories: student, faculty, staff and group. Each September, during Disability Culture Month, the recipients are celebrated at the State of Accessibility & Lee Henson Access Mizzou Awards event. Nominations are accepted year-round.
